My Impressions:
Pros:
Kits come complete.
CNC
laser cut for better looks and fitment.
Scenic mountain scenes up the tunnel sides for additional tunnel
strength.
Black crinkle powder-coated T5052 aluminum construction.
Cons:
None.
Bottom Line:
One of the things that bothered me with the MXZ was the amount of tunnel flex that I got when I stood on the running boards. Ski-Doo makes a tunnel stiffener for this machine, but it wasn't as substantial as the WRP Mountain Tuff Running Boards that I chose to install.
The WRP Running boards not only are constructed of high grade T5052 Aluminum, but they look great on the sled too. So form does meet function sometimes.
Installation is not to hard to do, and can be done by most anyone with the right tools and some patience. When I cut my holes out in the foot well, I did not remove as much material as most people do. My main objective was to get the maximum amount of tunnel reinforcement wile still leaving the foot well holes large enough to let the snow fall through. After I finished installing them, I stepped up and stood on my foot wells as hard as I could, and the flex was gone. Objective 1 accomplished. I am sure I removed enough material also to allow for no snow build up in the foot wells. I can easily remove some material later if needed.
I look forward to getting air on the trails now!!!!!!!
These running boards fit perfect and after installing them, I know if I had to do it again it would be a breeze.
The bottom line, Wasatch Recreational Products can provide you with a quality build product that should last you the life time of your sled, and it does it's job and then some. The cool thing is, your sleds tunnel most likely never looked this nice before. I will be installing WRP running Boards on my Polaris Dragon next. If you are in the market to add a seat or running boards to your sled, please check out what WRP can do for you, I am glad I did.
