09 Ski-Doo MXZ Renegade X 800R

Mototassinari V Force 3
Fits: SKI-DOO XP CHASSIS 800R (CARB) 08/09
Part # V3122-873H-2

Features:
  • The Moto Tassinari VForce3 reed valve system is a true "bolt-on" performance modification.
  • The VForce3 Reed Valve System incorporates features you won't find with other system on the market.
  • With such features as twice the reed tip surface, radius cage surface, snap-together construction, proprietary carbon fiber recipes and more.
  • By doubling the reed tip surface the petals now only need to open half as far to have the same flow as a stock style cage.
  • This is a significant advantage when you factor in that a reed petal opens and closes 133 times per second at 8,000 rpm.
  • The petals are only traveling half the distance of a stock style cage, so now fatigue to the petal has been greatly reduced, increasing petal life.
  • This design also enables the valve to drastically improve the entire powerband with a significant boost in the bottom and mid.
  • Instant throttle response is an understatement! The petals now sit on a radius surface to create a "pre-loading" effect that improves an already snappy acceleration.
  • Moto Tassinari's new cage design now allows the reed petal tips to be recessed into the cage itself. This allows for a cushioning of the reed tips and also discourages the possibility of any back-flow.

Installation:

Remove your old reeds and insert the new V Force 3 gaskets and reeds in place and attach the carb manifolds.
This is very easy to do, that is once you get all the real estate out of your way to get at the reeds!

Tip: I found it easier to do the right reed and carb manifold first. This way you can reach your bolts a lot easier.
Note: Notice I inserted a cloth in the empty reed slot so nothing could fall into the motor.
Note: Do not over torque the manifold bolts!

Picture above shows the V Force 3 Reeds installed, carb manifolds in place, and the carbs attached.

My Impression:

Pros:
V Force 3 have twice the reed tip surface.

Has a radius cage surface.

Simple snap-together construction.

Proprietary carbon fiber recipes.

Simple installation.

Cons:
None.

Bottom Line:
I was looking for more snap in my throttle response, for my 09 Ski-Doo MXZ Renegade X 800R, and the search was on! When I talked to Steve Tassinari at the Indy Show last year, he told me he had a cure for my mid range blues with his V Force 3 Reeds.

Tassinari recommended that I go with their V Force 3 reeds and he guaranteed me that I would have a quicker throttle response, along with getting rid of that mid range lag that is prevalent in the 800R's.

Right out of the box the V Force 3 reeds look like a million dollars compared to the oem reeds, but when you run your motor that is where they start to show their true colors. The first thing I noticed, was how brisk my throttle was from 3,000 to 8,000 rpm's. There is absolutely no lag anymore, and I can't wait to get out on the trail now!

Installation was very straight forward. Just remove your old reeds and install the gasket and the V Force 3 Reeds, and attach your carburetor. The hardest part is getting the carb out of the way so you can get at your reeds.

I need to do seat time to determine how well these work on the trail, but judging by the way my motor is running right now, I know I am going to be very happy.

Bottom Line, if you are looking to change your sled reeds, take a look at what Moto Tassinari has for your sled. I changed my reeds and am glad I did!
