| Well I am an avid power sports enthusiast, and it just so happens I am also an outdoor life enthusiast. I’m constantly on a journey for excuses to be outside enjoying the fresh air. I am also on a quest for a broad range of ATV and outdoor life related products. This search allowed me to stumble across this product from Napier Enterprises. Also ATVPT attended the 2006 Dealers Expo in Indianapolis, and this is how I discovered this company and vast line of products they offer for outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds. When I first looked at the carry-on luggage size duffle bag, I thought to my self, how could they possibly fit a two person tent, two sleeping bags, and two stools in such a package? Then, after unpacking, could I ever get it back in? We are all probably familiar with those wonderful miraculous packing nightmares that so many companies are able to achieve, and leave the consumer to deal with later. As a motorcyclist or ATV rider, you really couldn’t ask for much more of a complete and compact camping package. Now, what about quality, and durability? Well let’s see… |

So eagerly was I off to another adventure into the great northern woods of Minnesota to evaluate this product. After a 2 hour drive north with my ATV and crew, we arrived and immediately unpacked with anxiety and thoughts of what fun would be had. Time to pack up and hit the trails! Well, first off it was quite manageable and easy to strap this PAC onto my ATV and or motorcycle. The X-Treme PAC comes with some functional fastening straps with adjustable quick connectors for simple and fast securing for those trips down the road or trail. Opening this kit is quite a breeze; first popping out the two bags, then the tent and stools, simple. The tent is a familiar set up system with fiberglass snap together tethered poles. I think this will be easy to figure out for any novice to avid camper. After sliding and securing the 3 poles into the tent, I was able to prop it up by myself in just a few minutes. Then after applying the rain fly and anchoring stakes, I was set. This tent has a vast amount of customizing set up options, from the zipping screened windows to the rain fly. There are plenty of zippers and tie ups to accommodate temperature changes. The two sleeping bags are full length, and are Thermolite insulated and rated to 32F. I find they are thinner then an average sleeping bag of course to accompany this small package, but they fluff up very well, and are comfortable and warm. We tested them down to 45F. A nice thing I noticed on the sleeping bags was the inner zipper lining (See photo). For years I have had many bag zippers get caught and snag the inner lining, but not this bag! Nice feature! The stools are small yet suffice (as long as you haven’t won too many hot dog eating contests)J, but seriously, they are built well and do the job. You really can’t complain when your only option is a log, period. Well now the ever so dreaded packing up and heading home routine. Roll and squeeze the air out of the bags, they actually go back into their bag No Problem! Now, drop that tent, roll it up, toss in those stools. Ok, after putting the tent and stools in the PAC bag, putting in the two sleeping bags wasn’t easy, it took some squeezing and effort, but all in all, I’ve dealt with worse, it’s exceptional. You have quite the camping package in this kit. |
