Slime Power-Spair Flat Tire Repair Kit

Recently Slime sent us their Power Spair Flat Tire Repair Kit (#70004) to review and test, and I have quickly made it a part of the essential equipment that we take with us on all of our rides up here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

On our ride to Au Train I decided to add the Spair Tire kit from Slime to my rack just in case someone needed to fix a flat along the way.

As you see in the picture, the Slime kit is attached to my front rack, ready and able to take care of business when needed.

Little did I know that I would fall victim to not only a flat tire, but a ripped tire on this trip with only 100 miles on these Carlisle tires.

I aired the tire up when needed, and continued our trip with the guys. I was hesitant to install the slime in the tire because I was going to take the tire into our Tire Sponsor Discount Tire & Battery ( http://www.discounttireandbattery.com ) to see if they could repair the tire. Out of courtesy for the shop I felt I better not give them a mess to clean up with having the slime in the tire.

Seth Miller, Owner and also a very knowledgeable tire guy, took a look at the tire and came to the conclusion that this was a separation of the top tread and did not go all the way through the tire, even though we had a very slow leak.
He tried a patch but it did not stop the Slow leak. Our next course of action was to install slime and we were good to go.
Leak fixed!

My Impressions:

Pros:
All in one tire repair kit.

Pump is a power house.

Quality, rugged, top shelf kit.

Cons:
None

Bottom Line:
So the bottom line, having everything in one kit that will handle almost any flat repair you will ever experience is the way to go.

I know I will not be with out our Slime Repair Kit from now on, when I go riding or driving anywhere!

So, if you don't have this kit, you better hope your riding partner has one!

Note:
ATVPT Recommendations

We recommend using a quality tire sealant in your tires ( trailers, atv's, bikes, etc. ) at all times to help prevent flats from occurring.

Also its a good idea to carry an air compressor to fill your tires in case of a flat.

Most important use a tire gauge to make sure you have the proper operating air pressure in all of your tires before you operate any of your vehicles. Having the correct tire air pressure will ensure a safer ride, while also getting much better gas mileage from your vehicle too.
