    SHOEI V-Moto Motocross Helmet

    First Impression:

For the majority of my ATV riding, I prefer to use an open face MX style helmet. It was time for me to upgrade since my current helmet was 4 years old and has served it’s time. In the SHOEI 2006 line up is this V-Moto series helmet designed for motocross and off road use. Particularly on this helmet, I noticed some new contour lines on the visor and chin bar, and a new smaller profile is what attracted me to this helmet. Basically I see a no nonsense design with cool new graphics and great features. Immediately after sliding it on, I noticed this is definitely one of the most comfortable and natural fitting helmets I’ve ever used.
    Field Testing:
I field tested this product over the course of Four months in a variety of environmental conditions ranging from dirt trails to sloppy mud and even snow. I rode over 300miles on the trail with this helmet and it performed, period. I just can’t say enough about how very comfortable this helmet is, and I felt quite confident and well protected. I was able to ride in a variety of temperatures ranging from about -10F to 80F. Through this range of temperatures and conditions, this helmet combined with goggles did an excellent job of resisting the elements and trail debris. Compared to my older helmet, I could feel the decrease of wind drag and weight due to the improved design. This helmet’s reduced profile cuts the wind very well and I experienced no annoying wind howl or sore neck after extensive riding.

    Pros:
Features: Complete removable and washable liner- Superior adjustable venting- Anti-vibration chin bar

New smaller profile for decreased wind drag and neck fatigue

Very comfortable with top quality materials

SNELL Rated (higher then DOT rating)

    Cons:
Due to this helmet having a smaller chin bar, some larger goggles may fit a little tighter then desired.

    Bottom Line:
If you are looking for a high quality MX helmet with the latest technology I strongly recommend taking a look at this helmet.
