First Impression: |
|
| SCOTT has always been recognized as a leader in goggles, and I’m not surprised to admit I’m pretty impressed with this goggle design. It’s clear to me this goggle was designed to satisfy a broad range of consumers although primarily for the aggressive rider and racing. This is a pretty comprehensive goggle design considering all of the features are modular and the user can set up the system as desired. | |
Field Test: |
|
|
I field tested this product over the course of two months in a
variety of environmental conditions ranging from dry dirt/dusty trails
to sloppy mud and even snow. I rode over 100miles on the trail with
these goggles and they performed, period. They did a great job of
keeping dirt, mud, snow out of my eyes and also protected me well from
branches and debris. I was able to wear these goggles in a variety of
temperatures ranging from about -10F to 70F, I was unable to test in
higher temperatures at this point. It’s clear the design allows for
great ventilation to work well in a variety of conditions and help
prevent fogging. I did not experience any fogging during my field
testing. The WORKS film system really performed great in the mud, as I
was riding mud flew into my lenses I and could barely see, then with a
quick pull on the film roll advance knob, my view was clear as new, I
was impressed. I did notice the added hardware of the film system took away some of my peripheral vision. It’s a give and take, having a nice clear view of what was ahead of me is worth giving up some peripheral view in my opinion, but for the average recreational rider the film or tear off system may not be a necessity. |
