Features:

All of the Ricochet products are made of 3/16" extruded aluminum and have a clean, quality finish.

round-headed Allen bolts that resist damage when scraping along the rocks on the trail.

Installation:

Installation was not difficult at all. I was expecting some “force-fit” requirements,BUT there weren’t any.

1. Standing the ATV up on the rear grab bar will make the installation easier. Use a rag or cardboard to protect your grab bar. Remember to keep your bike anchored so it will not fall when you are working on it.

8. Drill the rivets out of the factory A-arm guards using a ¼” drill bit. Position the Ricochet A-arm guards and attach the clamps to them, but DO not tighten.
NOTE: This next step is very important, adjust the A-arm guards to provide clearance between the outer axle shaft boot and the aluminum guard. This clearance MUST be as much as possible.

My Impressions:

Pros:

Very good looking aluminum plates that are deburred very well.

Fit and finish is excellent, and the holes lined up perfectly.

Instructions are provided and informational.

Cons:

None yet.

Bottom Line:

I have installed these skid plates on my machine and I have to tell you, they do appear to offer amazing protection. The installation was pretty straight forward. The mounting system clamps on to very sturdy frame locations for extra rigidity.

I will be testing these skid plates in many of Michigan's trail conditions, like mud, sand, and snow.  Look forward to my impressions of their performance as we review them through out the year.

Bottom line, If you want to protect your investment I would recommend installing after market skid plates.  If you choose Ricochet, you will not be disappointed in the appearance, quality, fit and finish or function of this great armor.

Now with the Ricochet skid plates installed on my Renegade I can hit the trails with the confidence that I will not do unneeded damage to my machines underside now.
