Introduction: |
|
| Most of us that ride ATVs and motorcycles have a bunch of gear to go with us. The majority of riders are going to have a helmet, boots, gloves, goggles, chest protector, pads, jersey, and pants. Sometimes more than one of those items needs to be duplicated due to different conditions. The need of a gear bag grows more and more each time you go riding and each time you add something to your gear collection. One of OGIOs solutions to this is the 6900 cubic inch gear bag simply named 6900. | |
First Impression: |
|
| This bag appears to be just the right size to carry the gear that I need to take with me on a regular basis. The zippers are very heavy duty and easy to grip. The material seams to be high quality and durable. | |
Field Test: |
|
|
I have been using this bag for a month now and I am very happy
with the convenience that it adds to my riding experience. There are
three handles on this bag so you can pick it up from any direction. A
padded shoulder strap attaches to very sturdy hooks and the back of the
bag is padded for use with the shoulder strap. The helmet pocket is more than large enough to fit my helmet and it has a padded floor to protect the helmet. This pocket is also ventilated to prevent mildew buildup and to allow the helmet to air out. The zipper opening is huge and it is not difficult at all to get my helmet in and out. The boot pocket is very similar to the helmet pocket in size and opening if not identical. This pocket is also vented and has more than enough room for my boots. Each pocket has a sewn on label showing what it is for. The main compartment is for your chest protector. I dont use a chest protector, so I use it for all of my different clothing for the different conditions that I might run into. I also use the main compartment for things like a backpack, winch kit, and ATV bags that I dont want to have on the ATV during transportation. The lid of the main compartment also serves as the goggle pocket. The material of this pocket is very soft and will not scratch your goggles. This compartment will easily fit two pairs of goggles. On the front of the bag, there is a large pocket for miscellaneous items. This pocket could easily fit a pair of pants and a jersey. It is a flat pocket with a large zippered entrance. There are two pockets that I think are a very nice feature. One of these pockets is called the Tool Gutter. This is a long shallow pocket at the bottom of the front of the bag. I chose to use it for my jetting tools as those are the tools that I use the most. The other pocket contains what OGIO calls the Mud Flap. This is a fold out tarpaulin base that measures 36 long and 30 wide. This is great for me because I dont want to track the mud, dirt, and sand into my truck. You can use this to stand on while changing your clothing and/or shoes. |

Long Term: |
|
| Update: I have been testing and abusing the 6900 for 4 months now, and I am still very happy with the quality and convenience. This bag was definitely designed and built with the rider in mind. My gear has remained protected and organized. All of the zippers are still in perfect working order. The material has no holes or rips in it and I have given it plenty of opportunity to rip or wear through. | |

I highly recommend the 6900 gear bag made by OGIO for the rider that needs more organization or just a way to carry everything. I have used OGIO products for several years and I will continue to use them for years to come. Note: Product for this review was provided by Ogio. |
