AIR FILTER CLEANING KIT Facts & tech Tips:
- The
MOTOREX Air Filter Cleaning Kit provides all the tools required for
convenient, quick and ecologically sound air filter maintenance.
- It
includes a four liter container of the highly efficient and
bio-degradable MOTOREX Air Filter Cleaner, one liter of the excellently
adherent Air Filter Oil 206, a 100-g-container of Grease 2000, a large
bucket with draining grid for air filter cleaning and a small bucket
for filter oiling.
- It also includes ten latex gloves and two MOTOREX
stickers. Due to the new MOTOREX Air Filter Cleaning KitÂ’s compact size
it can be transported easily.
- Plus, it contains an illustrated in-depth
manual.
- The cleaning process is simple: Just pour the Air Filter Cleaner into the large bucket and knead the foam filter in the cleaner till all the oil and dirt is removed.
- Then rinse the filter with water and let it dry. Thoroughly lubricate the filter in the small bucket and remove the excess oil by gentle kneading.
- After a short drying period the filter can be re-installed. Make sure to apply the Grease 2000 around the filter lip in order to keep dust from intruding past the air filter.

- Note: I found some spay bottles at the dollar store for a dollar each. I am using them to apply the cleaner solution, and filter oil, more precisely. This also conserves the cleaner solution & filter oil. Why waste, right.
- The white spray bottle worked perfect, but the blue spray bottle didn't have a great spray pattern, so if I were going to do it again I would stick with the clear white spray bottle that I used for the cleaning solution.
Air Filter Cleaning Tips

- Remove your air filter and place it in the filter cleaning tub as (pic # 1).
- Use the supplied gloves when you work with the cleaning solution & filter oil (pic # 1).
- Spray the cleaning solution evenly around the filter (pic # 2).
- Let stand for ten minutes (pic #3), so the cleaning solution has a chance to work.
- Wash with water (pic # 4), rinse and let dry before you oil the filter.
Air Filter Oiling Tips

- After your filter is dry, place your filter on some cardboard to contain the over spray from the filter oil (pic # 1 & # 2).
- Evenly spray the filter oil on your filter (pic # 2).
- Let stand for a day to give the oil a chance to settle, and any excess can run off (pic # 3).
- When ready for re-installing your filter, wipe off any excess oil with a dry rag.
Cleaning Air Filter Box Tips

- It is a good idea to clean your air filter box with the Motorex Power Brake Cleaner Spray before re-installing your air filter (pic # 1).
- This will get rid of any oil or contaminants that are in your air box.
- Just spray it on and let set (pic # 2).
- Wipe clean with a cloth and you have a very clean air box (pic # 3).
- Note: I used the air filter holder off my truck for this demo (pic # 3).

Filter Grease Tips

- Apply a small amount of filter grease to the base of your filter (pic # 3), before you re-install it in your vehicle.
- This will help it to seal better and is less likely to let contaminants past into your motor.
- Be sparing with the grease application, because too much is a waste.
- I applied a little too much so you could see it in the picture easier (pic # 3).
- Re-install your air filter and you are good to go.

I did an unusual review of this product by setting out to prove that you can use this kit with most air filters. By using the plastic spray bottles I was able to control the application of cleaning fluids & also the application of filter oil.
Does this kit work, you betcha it does, and it works excellent in my opinion. I like the fact that this kit has everything you need to clean your air filter, oil it, and put a final touch of grease on your filter base to make it seal better. It also has gloves included to protect your hands while cleaning and oiling your filter.
If you are like me and ride in a very diverse riding area that has lots of dusty trails, where your air filter amongst other things needs tons of maintenance after every ride, you will need a kit like the Motorex Air Filter Cleaning Kit.
Bottom line is I highly recommend you taking a look at what Motorex has to offer you, when it comes time to do maintenance on your vehicle.
