My Impressions:Pros:Lighter weight then oem by 10 lbs.
MBRP canister gives you 2 + extra horse power.
Tig welded stainless steel gussets.
Stainless steel construction will not rust.
Excellent quality TIG Welded construction.
Cons:Drop in top end speed versus other cans.
Bottom Line:Anytime you can shave vehicle weight, and gain extra horse power, is a winner in my books always. The MBRP Canister is made of stainless steel and tig welded, which makes for a very high quality muffler that should withstand the rigors of winter operations for the life of your snowmobile.
Stainless steel will not rust, and is a very hardy material for any wet environment. The tig welds are very well done on this canister, and pass this former welding instructors critical inspection.
Installation is very easy, and any back yard mechanic should be able to get this job done. Just follow the instructions, and you will be very surprised when you fire up your sled for the first time, and hear that sweet sound which the MBRP canister gives you.
One benefit of having the MBRP canister is the fact you now have more room to make adjustments on your chain drive, and easily check the chain case fluid levels where you had to struggle to do these tasks before with the oem canister installed.
The nice thing about installing the new MBRP canister is that you don't need to rejet your carbs. This makes this mod very practical and very easy to do.
These statements sound familiar, eh.Why do I say that, because this is my second MBRP Canister installation this year. I liked the way the first canister fit & sounded on my Polaris Switchback so much, that I had to have a MBRP Canister on my new Ski-Doo MXZ Renegade 800R. I think this is testement enough, as to why I think the MBRP is one of the top canisters availabe today for your sled.
If you plan on doing any mods to your sled, you need to check out what MBRP has to offer. I am glad I did and I highly recommend any MBRP Product.
I look forward to running my sleds this winter. After removing so much weight off the front end, and also adding some extra HP, both sleds should really perform better now.
Now, think "Snow".
