First Impressions:
	My ATV is simply the most versatile vehicle I have ever owned. I primarily use my ATV for recreational riding, but I also spend a fair amount of my outdoor time utilizing my ATV in my sporting activities and performing work around the cabin. I’m constantly on the look out for innovations, tools and accessories to help me utilize my ATV investment to the fullest. Also finding such accessories that can help create that ever so precious “free time” is priceless. In my searching I came across this product from Kolpin called “Gear Lock and Load” system. This system allows you to mount a permanent plate to your rack, and then use a multi-mount type plate that you mount to several accessories and simply load and lock in place, and then remove quickly with no tools. I’m quite impressed at the idea and design; I haven’t seen anything like it before. I will be also testing the Fuel Pack Jr., Saw Press and Gun Boot IV with this system so I can truly test its versatility and user friendliness. Each one of these accessories also comes with its own permanent mounting system if you desire to use them.
Field Testing:
	First, after unpacking the kit, it’s nice to see there is not a great amount of nuts and bolts or endless hardware. The kit comes in a rather small, simple package, with familiar looking hardware. If you are an avid ATV user, this kit can be installed quite easily with the provided typical clamp style rack mounts. The clamps were designed well and can be assembled and attached with one person. However, if you are a beginner or stickler with following directions, I find the directions are not very helpful and do not include any assembly diagrams or pictures. Before you mount the receiver to your rack, make sure you size up your accessories or luggage you intend to use with this system, since you may want to leave room for them on your rack. Once I found a good spot to mount the receiver, it was quite simple and only took me about 10mins. I like the hardware design with snap in lock nuts especially, only tool I needed for installation was a Phillips head screw driver. I did find the rack clamp screws to be an awkward length that may be unusable or need to be cut for some applications. Now mount up your plates to your accessories and your ready to go!     My initial impression of installing and using this system is quite positive. I am able to switch from the Fuel Pack Jr., to the Saw Press, or to the Gun Boot IV in just seconds! This system is a great idea to enhance your relaxing recreational time in the outdoors. A great feature of this kit is that its so small and compatible. I’m able to use it with my Kolpin Matrix Contour luggage on my rack at the same time. Great design and thinking ahead by Kolpin!     I will be testing these products long term over a few months to learn about their quality and integrity.     Check back soon for a full review coming in the near future….
Update Feb 07:
	I have been testing this Lock and Load system for a few months now, including a few hundred miles down the trails in mud and snow. The versatility of this system has impressed me. Using this system with multiple utility items from Kolpin, like the Gun Boot, Fuel Pack and Saw Press has been a pleasure to use and test. This is a pretty well designed product that has held up to some abuse from me, I am not easy on anything. But I will say, if you get this system wet and muddy it can get a little clogged up and difficult to use, which is really the case with anything drenched in mud or frozen water. I really like the quick release locking system; this is a well designed feature of this unit.

Pros:
	Easy to install, good design with the utility user in mind
	Easy to use system, saves a great amount of time for multiple uses
	Great value
Cons:
	Getting the system muddy or covered with freezing water could be troublesome
Recommendation:
	I recommend this product to anyone looking for a very unique versatile, multiple utility locking system.
