I have been using the Firefox Vanquish Throat Microphones for several months
and I am happy with the outcome of the testing. The Vanquish replaces
the Extreme and has some added features and the hardware appears to be
of higher quality.
The most important part of the success of this style of microphone is the placement on your neck. If the microphone is placed poorly, the quality of the voice is lacking, but if you get the placement dialed in, the voice quality is great. The neck piece is adjustable, so it is pretty easy to get it to fit any neck size. One of the new features of this piece is that you can use your own headphones or you can plug your helmet speakers in. The junction for this is up high around the back of your neck. I am very impressed with the functionality of this product. I am able to hear others clearly while I am cruising down the trails with the motor blaring and others are able to hear me clearly. Wind does not affect the microphone and external noises are not heard. The push to talk button is on a cable that can be threaded down your sleeve and the Velcro piece holds it to your finger for easy access. |

I recommend the Vanquish Throat Microphone for motor sports. As long
as you get the placement dialed in, the microphone is very functional.
