Ducks Unlimited Wetlands Tire-Wheel Combo

The Ducks Unlimited Wetlands Tire-Wheel Combo set have arrived via UPS at ATVProductTests door and we will be installing them very soon. I am very impressed at how nice a package they are. I like the tire tread pattern and I am sure they will work great in our northern environment. I am a fan of steel wheels and am liking the black color of the rims already. It looks like they will be easy to clean up after having a fun day in the mud. You can't beat steel for durability. The black paint should be easy to touch up if you scrape the paint. So, the testing will show how nice they work.

We will be comparing them to 26" Mudlites, and some other radial tires as we receive them for testing.

Ducks Unlimited Wetlands Radial First Impressions.

We are impressed at how much traction we get in the woods with the Ducks Unlimited Wetlands Radials. Yes we do work our quads here at ATVProductTests, hauling wood and performing other arduous tasks around the farm. These Ducks Unlimited Wetlands Radials are very quickly becoming my favorite tire around here for working in the woods. I like the way you can maneuver in 4 wheel drive, without the tire darting all over the place, like some other radial tires do while pulling a large load. I like the 6 ply construction of this tire. It is very quickly proving to be a very durable running tire for woods where the trails are rough, and wooded with lots of sharp tree debris to forge through. I would choose this tire for any of my hunting, exploring trips where I require a durable, great radial riding tire to get me there and bring me back safely.

This is a truly a high-performance, all-conditions radial tire. MY first impressions are that DU's tire provides exceptional traction and flotation over variable trail conditions. I like the larger contact patch that the radial tire provides. The tire foot print actually grows under a load. I like the fact the DU has a tough 6-ply rating, rim guard and compliant tread compound. This provides some smooth-riding compared to a bias ply tire. The Wetlands seem so far to be extremely durable as well.

I think being able to purchase this set up as a wheel tire combo is a great match. So far the wheels have stood up to everything that we have thrown at them. The fit and finish seem to hold up quite well without any noticeable wear.

These are just my first impressions and I will be adding to this test as the season moves into the winter months.

Duck’s Unlimited Wetlands

As I said before I have the Ducks Unlimited tires in 26" as on your site except mine are mounted on Vision 160 cast aluminum wheels.

So far I like them very much; they seem to be a great all around tire.

One problem I did have with them is one of the front tires was out of round and creating a noticeable wobble at higher speeds.

I talked to a tech at ITP and he said it is possibly the way it was mounted and that it might not be properly seated.  Visually it looked fine to me and my mounting tech. (at Magic racing) which specializes in the Motorsports industry.

ITP sent me out a new tire I had it mounted and the fronts balanced and have had no further problems.

Also of note, the DU logo quality was poor with a lot of extra material around the edges, something that will not affect performance but is a visual "defect" at the consumer level.  This may be a minor consideration to most and not a functional problem.
