  • Note: PowerMadd Cobra Windshield is not a snap on like the stock windshield.
  • First remove the stock windshield by popping the outside black retainer off, and the windshield will pop right off with it as shown in pictures # 1 &  # 2 above.
  • Remove the 2 T-30 Torx screws from the front of the dash and the 2 located on each side of the dash.
  • Note: These 4 holes are the mounting points for your new windshield.
  • Position your Cobra windshield in place and install the 4 supplied screws loosely with the washers on the inside of the windshield, starting with the front 2 screws first.
  • Note: The washer goes between the windshield and the dash, which acts as a spacer for the windshield to fit flush with the hood.
  • Finish your set up by tightening all 4 screws, but be careful to not over tighten.
  • Pictures # 3 & # 4 show the PowerMadd Cobra Windshield installed.

My Impressions:

Pros:
Available in 3 different heights for the Rev X Platform.

Simple to install with only 4 screws.

Unique curved windshield deflects wind much better then most aftermarket windshields.

Tinted windshield is very well constructed and could very easily be the best aftermarket replacement windshield for your snowmobile.

Cons:
None yet.

Bottom Line:
One of the most important things for me when I am riding a snowmobile or atv is being able to see where I am going. If my vision is obstructed I quite simply do not enjoy my ride.
Randy from PowerMadd supplied us with one of his new Cobra Snowmobile Windshields that was designed to fit the MXZ Rev X platform.

Featured on my sled is the 12" Cobra Windshield from PowerMadd.

This windshield utilizes an aggressive up-slope angle on the upper frontal portion of the windshield, and also includes side wings in the design to help deflect wind & snow better.

This is one of the easiest installs I have ever done. You simply pop off the stock windshield which is held in place by 3 inserts. Remove the 4 T-30 Torx screws from your dash. Then you bolt on the Cobra windshield with the 4 supplied screws. Just remember to install the supplied washers between the windshield and the dash. Remember the windshield, and front windshield trim is thicker then the replacement windshield. These washers will allow your Cobra Windshield to fit flush with your hood.

This doesn't get any easier does it, eh! The oem replacement windshield I saw was a nightmare to install. You have to drill holes in your hood for it to fit into. With the PowerMadd set up, I can easily convert my sled back to stock condition, and you would never know that anything was ever done to my windshield or hood. I don't know about you, but I hate drilling holes in anything, unless you absolutely have too. I love the clean lines of my sled, and I do not want to ruin them. That is why I chose PowerMadd for my replacement windshield!

Bottom line, like all of the PowerMadd products we have used, this windshield fits great, looks sharp, and works
excellent. I highly recommend taking a look at what PowerMadd has to offer you when it comes time to power up your ride!
