Cycle Country Plow Down Force Kit
Model Number: 10-0230

Down Force Kit Features:
  •  Designed exclusively for Cycle Country snowplows, the Down Force kit applies a burly 150 pounds of down pressure.
  • This powerful down pressure makes cleaning your driveways and sidewalks easy, because your snowplow scrapes right down to the surface.
  • That means less re-plowing and a clean, safe surface.
  • Cycle Country's unique down pressure system also allows you to use your snowplow throughout the year for tough chores, like blading gravel and scraping dirt.
  •  You get the most out of your snowplow, and your investment.
Note: The Down Force kit must be used with a winch and it easily installs in just minutes. It simply bolts to the adjustable bracket on the snowplow, and then attaches with a 1/4" clevis pin to a bracket that sits behind the roller hawse.

  • Attach and tighten the bolt on the lower portion of your gas spring assembly (pic # 13), and adjust tension to suit.
  • Note: you need the front tires sitting on 1 1/2" 2 by fours to get the correct down force adjustment. I played around with my adjustment and settled in on the 3rd hole from the bottom. Each individual adjustment will vary with the atv & tire sizes used.
  • Next attach your cable stop (pic #14).
  • Note: Adjust your cable stop so you cannot bottom out your gas spring assembly (pic #16). This could damage the gas spring assembly if you do this.
  • Picture # 15 shows the gas spring assembly fully extended, and picture # 16 fully compressed.

My Impressions:

Pros:
150 pounds of down force on the plow blade.

Maximum investment & usage out of your plow with minimum investment for the down force kit.

Cons:
None

Bottom Line:
One of my pet peeves with all the plows I have used, including my plow on my F-350 Ford, is the fact that you do not have any way to get down pressure on the plow blade. Cycle Country has come up with a very effective means of doing this without breaking the bank doing so.

They call it their Plow Down Force Kit, and true to that name it does exactly that. You will need a winch equipped machine to use it on, but most atv's & utv's you plow with these days already has a winch installed.
Installation is a breeze and can be done by most anyone with a minimal amount of tools. I installed the entire kit in my home garage in about 1 hr..

I immediately noticed that I had way more control plowing then I did before. You can cut down with ease, where before the plow would simply lift, or ride over whatever you were attempting to plow.
This addition to the already very nice plow system will allow you do get way more out of your plow then you did before.

Bottom line is, I highly recommend this new kit from Cycle Country. I know I will be enjoying plowing much more now, and my snow plowing jobs should take less time too. So if you have a Cycle Country plow and you want to maximize it's plowing performance, take a look at adding the new Plow Down Force Kit from Cycle Country. You will be happy you did, I know I am.
