BRP Bombardier 800 XT CVT Belt Replacement

I wanted to show everybody how easy it is to remove, and replace your cvt belt on your BRP Outlander 800 XT. I also pointed out the cvt rear bolt drain hole as well. This has got to be the easiest cvt belt that I have ever replaced on any ATV here at ATVPT. You will need the puller, Part number 529-035-746 to spread the rear secondary sheaves apart. The belt almost falls off the sheaves for you. I wish Kawasaki and a few of the other ATV brands would take a few lessons from BRP in this area ( maybe a few others as well).

a: Remove floor boards for easy access to the cvt cover.
b: Set them aside. It's a piece of cake to take the cvt cover off this way.
c: Clean any mud and debris away from your cover before you start(mine was ugly).
d: Remove the bolts far enough to take the cover off(this is the rear drain hole bolt).

e: The cvt bolts have a rubber grommet to stop water from entering the cvt.
f: Remove cvt bolts so you can slip cover off. There is no need to remove bolts all the way.
g: Finish taking bolts out far enough to remove cover.
h: Clean belt dust off of the cvt cover and your clutch sheaves.

i: Clearly see the BRP cvt drain hole to let water out, just in case.
j: You will need this puller, PN 529 035 746, to spread your secondary sheaves.
k: Insert puller into threaded portion of the sheave hole.
l: Spread sheaves apart as far as they will go.

m: Belt will be loose now.
n: Slip old belt off. This is the easiest belt removal out there on an ATV.
o: Slip new belt over sheaves with the arrows facing forward.
p: New belt is on, remove the puller and button up your CVT Cover. Re-install your floor boards and you are ready to ride.
