My Impressions:Pros:Real suede leather construction.
Sturdy Buckles.
Excellent padded insides.
Lugged soles just like a regular work boot.
Steel toe clicker, that can be replaced if worn down.
Cons:None.
Bottom Line:This Slammer Constructor Boot from AXO rocks. I have been looking for a riding boot that would allow me to shift the Yamaha Raptor 700R project atv better. The riding boots I currently use are excellent riding boots, but they are too stiff and don't allow me to feel the shifter like I would like too.
When I tried these AXO boots on it felt like I had been wearing them for a year already. This is the only boot that I have ordered that is a true size. So if you wear a size 11, order a size 11, unless you are going to wear heavier socks. This boot not only allows me to feel the shifter but I can walk around when not riding without any discomfort like a riding boot would give you. Face it, most riding boots are meant for just that, Riding, and they suck when you try to walk around in them.
The suade leather construction puts them at the top of the pile when you compare them to any work type boot. The heavy duty buckles allow you to put your boots on fast and tighten them effortlessly in no time at all. If you are looking for comfort, this is the boot for you. The insides are heavily padded and provide the wearer with a very plush fitment.
There is a shifter wear strip build in both the left and the right boot that will accomadate a left or right side shifter placement. This should keep your boot in great shape for a long time. The front toe of the boots has a steel clicker plate that should keep the toes from wearing if get that front part of your boot in contact with anything too.
I would suggest treating your boots with a good suade leater boot treatment before you use them. I am using a silicone treatment and I will let you know how that works.
I would highly recommend taking a look at what AXO has to offer you, when it comes time to invest in any riding gear. I am very happy that I have finally found a boot that feels comfortable, and works as good as it looks. I know I will be getting a ton of use out of these boots, not only for riding, but general use as well. I bet you there are a few Harley Riders out there that may be wearing this Slammer Boot very soon, eh!
