Product Review

Product: - Quadboss Fender Protectors
Test Duration: - Long Term
Tested By: - Nathan Hill
Location: - Various
Machine: - 2003 Kawasaki Prairie
Review Date: - December 2006

Safety:

First and foremost, these fender protector/foot rests are not to be used for passengers. They are for the driver to rest on the trail when the ATV is not in motion and to protect the fenders from protruding objects on the trails.

Field Test:

These fender protectors have adjustable foot rests that fold up out of the way when they are not being used. I am larger than the average rider and these foot rests support my weight just fine. When I adjust my sitting position, they don’t move much at all. I am using the foot pegs in conjunction with the Quadboss Duo and they make for a very comfortable and stable setup.

Installation was fairly simple and it would have been painless if it weren’t for my already bent floorboards. If I had installed these fender protectors from day one, I may not have bent my floorboards down due to the hard impact landings when jumping. The fender protectors connect the rear rack with the floorboards and I feel that it is much more stable now.

I have brushed passed and even hit some logs on the trail and I have not yet been able to damage the fender protectors.

One thing that I have found to be somewhat of an irritation is that when I dismount my ATV, I sometimes hit my leg on the foot peg. I just so happens that the placement of the foot peg is right in the path of my leg. I could easily adjust the foot pegs lower to get them out of the way, but they would not be as comfortable for my wife who has shorter legs than I do.

Pros:

    Helps prevent plastic from ripping
Adds comfort when used in conjunction with a rear seat
    Solid design
Adjustable to fit any rider size

Cons:

Foot pegs can get in the way when dismounting depending on where you have them adjusted

Bottom Line

I recommend the fender protectors to go along with any rear rest trunk. It will definitely add to your experience.
