My Impressions:
Pros:
Rotax 799.9 cc V-twin EFI engine with 71 hp.
Dual-mode Dynamic Power Steering (DPS).
Visco-Lok QE front differential.
More-powerful magneto.
Aluminum skid plate.
1/2-inch diameter sway bar.
12-Inch aluminum beadlock wheels.
Cons:
Not impressed with the smaller gas tank. Please bring back the larger gas tank so we can improve our driving range.
Bottom Line:
The first thing you notice when you ride the 2010 Can-Am Renegade 800R Xxc is the gobs of the power from the 71 horse power this engine produces this year. That coupled with the faster engaging front Visco-Lok front differential, make this machine's ability to pull stumps out on any launch.
The looks of this machine keep improving every year. Styling on this atv is very striking. First impressions are high on the Wow factor. Great graphics, bead lock wheels, new sway bar, chiseled design seat, along with all the other immensities make this atv one of the best looking on the market this year.
We know one thing this atv is the most powerful and the best handling 4 wheel drive atv available today.
I am a little disappointed that the size of the gas tank is reduced this year, but I am told that this issue is being addressed. My range has been reduced to roughly 80/100 miles per tank of gas. I would like to see that improve some, and a larger gas tank will fix that issue.
This has got to be the most versatile atv that I have ever had here over the years, and I know that if I had to have just one atv it would have to be the Can-Am Renegade 800R.
So far this machine continues to amaze me at how well it performs. The suspension seemingly sucks up the woops and bumps with ease. When I feel the need to hit the rough stuff, 4 wheel drive and power steering are there to make this task much easier on me.
The dual mode power steering is a must have. Once you ride an atv with power steering it is hard to go back to none. I am finding myself using the max setting for rock climbing and heaving mudding. The min setting works best for me on high speed trail riding. When you use the min setting it almost feels like you have a steering stabilizer installed. This mode makes the steering feel at high speeds very well controlled, and there is minimal feed back from hitting roots or rocks. With the steering in max mode your steering effort is so easy you will think, why did atvs take so long to acquire power steering.
I am very impressed with the 2010 Can-Am Renegade 800R Xxc, and I would like to have this machine in my stable, as my number one atv to drive. If you want the best handling, the most powerful, and the most unique styled atv available now, then you need to take a look at what Can-Am has to offer you for 2010.
