The Renegade
blends radical performance with 4x4 all terrain ability.
The Renegade offers excellent power delivered by the Rotax engine with EFI. It rides on a RS-Type sport tuned double A-arm front suspension, and RS-Type TTI rear suspension.
Plus it’s equipped with a new independent front and rear braking systems for better control. Also with a strong lightweight SST frame that is exclusive to Can-Am.
All of which means nothing, until you ride it.

Renegade compared to the Renegade X-Series
Why would I want to purchase the X-Series. Quite simple, by the time you purchase all the add ons that come standard on the X-Series you will be spending a bunch of extra money. Now if you already have the Standard Renegade, then by all means add addition upgrades as you can afford too.
So, if you plan on getting better shocks, skid plates, etc, why not invest in the X-Series that comes standard with these options.

Well you do the Math. I know I would be looking at getting
the X-Series. It is a way better value.
My Ride Impressions of the 2008 Can-Am Renegade 800 X-Series
My Ride Impressions are more like, "WOW!!!!!!!!!".
Pros:
Right out of the box this new X-Series Renegade shouts out to you, "Lets Ride". The 07 Renegade was very nice, but I found myself wanting to add things to that atv to enhance it's ride capabilities. This new X-Series comes equipped with almost everything that I wanted to have on the 07 Renegade.
From it's fully adjustable shocks, skid plate, 6061 Aluminum handle bars, fully wrapped wind/hand guards, sculptured seat, chiseled lines & graphics, to it's excellent now standard dual brake levers, this Can-Am ATV once again jumps out in front of the much lacking competition.
I have run this machine on the trails, and at Silver lake Sand Dunes here in Michigan for a year, and all trouble free. I most likely think that some people may not want to see me returning with this machine, especially at the dunes!
Look out 2008, Can-Am has done it again!
Bottom Line:
Bottom line with this machine is, it is my most favorite atv to ride in 08. I have made it through a year of running this awesome atv without any malfunctions at all. We have rode this atv all over the country with excellent results, from sand, water, mud to the rocky terrain of Northern Ontario.
If you are looking for a machine that will hang with anyone on the trails, then the Can-Am Renegade 800 is the way to go. If I had to have only one atv in my garage, this one would be it!
